History

The ADWA was set up by one Asian Deaf Woman named Sarla Meisuria  from East London  experienced and identified the difficult of Asian Deaf Women’s needs due to the lacks of awareness among other organisations.

Sarla curiously asked a question

to herself

“Where are the

Asian Deaf

Women?”

That was how it created more inconvenience and dysfunctional such as on the top of their confusing identities and communication barrier plates among the Asian Deaf Women.

Sarla advocated and assisted a lot of Asian D/deaf women in her home area before she decided to set up voluntary work organisation, working mostly with the social service and voluntary organisation, in the development of an organisation for Asian Deaf Women.

This is when the ADWA happily born. It would not be without her enormous effort and Support.
